Feb 7th debrief
Whip enthusiasts groups had only 3 people. New thing, also maybe too early. Perhaps 11 or 12. Perhaps allow less time for setup with more time for events?
G. (Former secretary) started whip enthusiast promotion on Fetlife. DM suggests that a full day of programming is a draw. Try to promote more. LR suggests more like 11:30-1pm. GF says we learned about scheduling.
Okay setup despite disagreements. Crew of 8, including board members. Done in 2.5 hrs.
Afternoon workshop worked well, people interested. Prof. Oni good presenter, turned it into a workshop instead of just a demo. Good feedback on him.
Afternoon and evening workshops should be seen as equals and priced the same, $10-20.
Action: LR to check Mar 7 pricing on website, flyers and posters.
Action: Peter to check poster copy price.
Confusion over workshop coordinator. LR has been acting in that position, but doesn’t want to. Consider Ilya? LR says he has political problems. Will put out call. Steven? Scott? Workshop coordinator needs to be well known, well regarded, lots of contacts in community. LR asks DM to help with workshop duties.

Great attendance. Lots of newbies, feeling safe and comfortable.
$240 gross at the snackbar, double the usual amount. More variety of products (jerky, nuts) seems to be working. DM suggests handing over snackbar management to Sherri, giving her a budget and letting her run it as she sees fit. GF says give her a purchasing budget. GF has been corresponding with Sherri
DM likes new table layout.
Denser dungeon may have created more energy in the playspace. No problems from DM Team about new layout and new position of DM table. LR fears the new position of the DM table may encourage them to sit and not do their job. May have been mistaken as welcoming or front table for the party.
Chatelaine or greeter position. Tifa?
Heater donation by Amber. DM says we should comp her twice.
Vendor busy all night, doing business. $40 plus door prize donation.
Door prize not collected. Will notify via Fetlife and newsletter. Roll over if not collected.

DM says doing more board members speaking at beginning of party, as Tillie used to do.

DM suggests spreading out the work and separating setup group from teardown group. LR says she won’t do 20-hour work days anymore, i.e. events starting in the morning.
Bring back mattress on balcony for people who want to crash.
March 7th Planning
Action LR call DM Team and confirm them.
Friction between Gravedigger and DM Team. Tabled until next meeting, during in-camera session. DM suggests using Ms Ava as ombud as a practice for/test of this mechanism.
LR suggests continue selling rope packages.
VASM
Founded 26 years ago. Non-profit.
Claude in 2nd year as president. Just reformed after hiatus. Trying to find a safe space for dungeon parties. MVK rents the Capri Hall. VASM interested in MVK’s equipment, which VASM doesn’t everymore.
About ½ of MVK’s equipment is Paul/Yvonne owned, but we can loan out to other groups.
DM suggests co-event.
Claude says it’s a men’s-only group, in the constitution.
MVK’s base rent is $750, by day.
VASM events are dry. No drugs either.
MVK can introduce and recommend, but can’t do it under MVK’s name because of liability.
GF suggests Fall Gallery downtown, rents $300-400, 1500 sq ft.
LR suggests VASM make use of space in afternoon before regular MVK event. Also perhaps getting reduced rate on Friday night or Sunday night.
Claude will report to VASM board.
Estimates ~30 people attending.
DM suggests discount for evening party to VASM afternoon attendees.
Danny M likes the group dinner thing, as does Draya.
Afternoon event on Pride Saturday, as part of VASM’s offerings.

Draya suggests co-event with VASM and BoP. LR suggests three day hall rental and sharing with BoP and VASM.
B. Situation
According to small claims court, BD replied to being served on Feb. 12th. We do not need to make any proof of serving. Now we are on the waiting list for a simplified trial, which should be in ~3 months. PT will receive notice soon and will prepare trial statement.
Evidence: door money.
Potential Witnesses: PT, Draya, LR, GF, Tillie, BJ, Dr. Eric, Jen the Marmot.
Booking big name presenters
Can we afford lodgings, transportation, appearance fee of big name presenter, e.g. Midori?
Midori will be in Victoria in July. May be able to get a break on paying for her transportation
If she is presenting at Sagacity, work with them.
Action LR contact Sagacity leadership about cooperating with bringing up Midori and splitting transportation and/or accomodation.
Will have to be pricier than our usual workshops. 2 workshops.
GF will do projections with sliding scale.
Needs ballpark budget for venue and hotel. Venue other than Capri can be on different night of the week.
Build party
21st? Not workable b/c GF out of town and LR busy.
